The idea came to me whilst sitting on the beach on the south coast of England, where many a time I have sat searching for the perfect pebble—one that captures my attention through its colour, feel, size, and sensory value. It occurred to me that we might do well to hold similar values in the people and items we choose to keep in our lives. Just as each pebble is unique and treasured for its individual qualities, so too should the connections and possessions that surround us be carefully selected with intention, appreciation, and a mindful eye for what truly enriches our experience.
